Hit Songwriter, Stephony Smith performing at The Art of Songwriting

We are so honored to have Stephony joining us at The Nashville Treehouse Art of Songwriting weekend.  This is such a treat for all those attending.  Not only is she a killer songwriter, she serves a mean plate of spaghetti and is a blast to hangout with.

She began her professional songwriting career in Memphis, Tennessee writing jingles for a major advertising agency.  In 1989, after a successful career and 20 Addy Awards, she moved to Nashville and landed a publishing deal.  Stephony has had cuts by a number of award winning artists including, The Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Twain, Barbara Streisand, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and the legendary Reba McEntire.  Tim McGraw’s performance with his wife Faith Hill of “It’s Your Love”, written solely by Stephony, stayed at #1 on the singles chart for 6 weeks.  See more of her hit songs in the credits listed below.

New Film Score / Rise of the Wahine

The studio is buzzing with excitement! We're starting a new film score + soundtrack today for Rise of the Wahine documentary. An amazing story of the fire and perseverance that drove underdogs to birth Title IX and release untold opportunities to an entire generation.

Centered around the University of Hawaii's volleyball team, these women (and men) lit a profound desire for girls to have the same opportunities as men—in education, sports, and jobs.

They were pioneers who ushered in a new era.

Women's roles were about to change from "housewife" to educated-producer. Title IX was the door to get them there.
